Search by Sequence

If you are looking for a motif with a particular sequence simply type the sequence in the box labeled sequence and press submit. Be sure to enter the sequence in upper-case letters without spaces and keep in mind that sequence searches are limited in length to 30 nucleotides.

The default parameter is to search only the loop region of the motif. That is, search only the unpaired bases. By clicking the radio button next to "Search any part of sequence" you can disable this restriction and search the entire motif for the given sequence.

For more detailed searches, we have implemented IUPAC's nucleotide ambiguity codes. All of the sequence searching is performed by MySQL using regular expressions.
