Junction ID

In order for the developers of this database, as well as its users, to keep track of the junctions in it, they have each been assigned a unique positive integer. This numbers are used internally as keys or pointers in the database, and can be used externally to link to a particular junction or search for it.

A junction's Junction ID is often referred to as its jid.
